Pressure Cooker Gasket Fitting Guide

Gasket/ Rubber Fitting Guide: How to replace a pressure cooker gasket

– Ensure you have the correct colour gasket for your pressure cooker.

– Remove old gasket from the underside of the pressure cooker cover and discard. Clean and dry pressure cooker cover rim thoroughly before fitting the new gasket or rubber.

– Carefully insert the new gasket, ensuring it is flat and completely fitted under the rim of the pressure cooker cover.

– Always check the gasket’s condition after each use ensuring it has not become hard or firm or developed cracks. In normal use it will need replacing every 6-9 months. Frequent usage will necessitate sooner replacement.

– Old and worn gasket will result in excess steam leaking, longer cooking times and possibly a ‘boil dry’ situation.

Caution:

If the pressure cooker boils dry DO NOT attempt to move the pressure cooker until it has completely cooled.
