How to use a Pressure Cooker

Working Principle

In the process of heating, the cooker is sealed by a rubber ring. The pressure in the pressure cooker increases gradually and water boiling point increases accordingly, when the pressure in the cooker exceeds the specified limit, the pressure limiting valve pushes up. A part of the steam then escapes from the exhaust pipe, keeping the temperature and pressure inside the cooker at a certain level. If escaping hole is blocked by food one of two safe devices exhaust auomatically for safety assurance. In the process of cooking by heating, under the condition that the cover has not closed to full position, it is ensured that the pressure in the pressure cooker can not reach 5Kpa. When cooking has been compleetd, the pressure in the pressure cooker is higher than 3 Kpa. The cover locks and cannot be opened to ensure safety operation.

Technical Parameter

Working pressure: 80 ~ 10% Kpa

Safety Pressure: 112-160 Kpa

Destroy pressure: > 480Kpa

Pressure inside the pressure cooker under condition that cover has not closed to full position. Pressure in the cover when the indicating valve locked: < 3Kpa.

How to use your Pressure Cooker:

To use a new pressure cooker for the first time, please add some edible oil to the place as shown in Figure 1 for easy initial opening and closing.

The amount of food and water put in the pressure cooker can not exceed 2/3 of the pressure cooker volume, water or soup cannot be less than 200 milliliter (about 2 bowls).

Always look through the exhaust pipe to make certain that it is clear before closing the cover, safety valve and pressure indicatingvalve should be in good order and indicating valve at the dropping position.

Put cover on the pressure cooker, turn the upper handle of the cover clockwise to the lower handle in full position, as shown in figure 3. At this moment, the pushing plate moves to a working position, the indicating valve is shown, as Figure 4. completely.

Place the pressure limiting valve on the exhaust pipe.

After the cover has been closed properly, cooking can be started with the fire on high, some steam may escape from the exhaust pipe, which is normal. Afterwards, indicating valve rod will rise up and remain in the up position, while steam escapes from the exhaust pipe with some noise. You can use the fire on low to reduce the temperature until cooking is completed.

Reduce pressure after cooking is completed. Set the pressure cooker aside to cool until pressure is completely reduced. If you want to cool the pressure cooker at once, put the pressure cooker under running waterof faucet. Pour cold water over it or place it in a pan of cold water until pressure is completed reduced. Pressure is completely reduced when the pressure indicating valve has dropped.

If the pressure indicating valve in its raise position, there may still be pressure inside the pressure cooker. Continue to cool until the pressure indicating valve drops.

After pressure has been completely reduced, remove the pressure limiting valve. Always remove the pressure limiting valve before opening the cover.

When there is no steam escaping and the indicating valve rod has dropped, the rod plate should be pushed to the end by hand as per the arrow direction. Open the cover in a counter clockwise direction. If the indicating valve has not dropped that means there is some pressure inside the pressure cooker. At this moment the pressure connecting device is effective to ensure safety and the cover can not be opened. Do not try to open it by force, just press the indicating valve downwards with a chop stick, let the remaining steam escape completely and then open the cover.

Maintenance of blockade guard: In order to ensure the clear hole or the blockade guard and hygiene of the pressure cooker, the blockade guard should be washed after each use. Take it out and then wash it. After washed, put it back clockwise as figure 8.
